Help upgrading motherboard

Hello people of tomshardware, I plan on upgrading my Pegatron h8-1437c to a BIOSTAR TZ77A. Installing it hardware wise I'm fine, I understand that but what I do need help with is the drivers. I still do not fully understand the process of what I need to uninstall/install. I have windows 8.1 installed already so I believe I just need to download the drivers for that mobo then install them when I boot into safe mode, correct?

it is a oem you have to check since it was made for them made a full copy of it before trying to instal everything for the biostar board you could have conflict since it have the hp motherboard driver on ,the best way would be to do a new install and when the os is on use the motherboard cd to install the driver , i would suggest you try to use another hdd and keep the hp with all on it in case that do not work .

Can you re-install windows with the same registry key?
  5. not on another board if you made a safeguard copy when you had the system if not you may have to use the recovery part on the hdd and if this does not work you will need to buy a recovery disc from hp .

Could I not just install the drivers on a flash drive then when the BIOS asks what to boot from I select the drive its in?
  7. if it is only the driver system wont boot from them you need a os on the usb drive or at least on the internal one .

So then could I not have the drivers downloaded in a folder on my C:/ drive? Surly the BIOS could install them from there.
  9. you could have them download on a file and use them when system ask to install the device . it is not the bios that install them but the os .
