Hey guys

My boomphone phantoms are beginning to die on me and its time for a new headset
I'm looking for a heavy duty headset that can handle long sessions and is solid with music, movies and especially gaming (including in FPS games)

I'm willing to take a pair of headphones over a gaming headset and buy a clip on mic but I need good recommendations

Already off the list
M50's, although they're great for music, gmaing performance is not good and the same for the senheiser HD-280
ANY Razer Headsets

Not too sure about
Logitech's G930/35 has received a lot of critisicm for build quality (a lot) and comfort if you have glasses and their declining quality of support

Help me?

PS: If it matters, my soundcard is the realtek alc1150 (integrated)

Oops accidentally voted :p
Well, Bose headphones aren't the greatest at gaming especially in my price range, (I own a pair of QC15) and the M50's are an aboslute no for gaming, they don't perform well in that field since they have a low soundstage although I'm interested in them since they are extremely popular (the good kind of popular, not beats popular) and fairly priced

The vengeance I've seen and I'm not too sure about it as its reviews tend to be mixed (avoiding critics bus consumer wise) But I'm still looking into it

And the Hyper X doesn't fit my profile, drivers are large but from what I can see from the mic and a few features, not a fan but maybe..

Any more suggestions?

i personally own a pair of m50s and i agree... they have great build quality and sound excellent... however the issue is that they have an extremely small soundstage which many people like for gaming. personally i can live with that and i've used them a time or two but some people cannot and need something with more of a soundstage.

they are out of your budget but the hd598 headphones are well known to be quite good for gaming due to their good sized soundstage. a bit lacking in the bass department though

what is in budget though are the sennheiser hd558 which have a bit less soundstage and clarity but more bass presence.

also in budget are the audiotechncia ad700x which have a huge soundstage making it superb for gaming. they are however bass light.

those are headphones so you would need a boom microphone to go with them. the $50 modmic is an excellent one to pick however you could likely make do with the $20 moovemic if you want to keep on budget and spend more money on headphones.

I've heard a lot about the AD700X, But they are above my price range and the same goes for the senheiser headset, (they cost 160 as a minimum)
I really like the Modmics concept but I'd make me drop my budget to 100$, which puts a lot out of the picture including the M50 if I ever decide to say whatever to the low soundstage
If I do take a headset like the M50 (Which starts at around 130 in Canada), I'd have to take a Zalman clip on temporarily

Any suggestions at 100$ (In Canada) for headphones, or any other 150 or less headset

Also, did my research on the Vengeance and will definitely not be getting it, as the mic's quality is not too great, and has average audio when comparing to cheaper headphones.

Alright, I've decided I'd get a crappy gaming headset for now and see how they do
So after a lot of research I'll need someone to pick one
Kingston HyperX Cloud as ksham suggested vs Logitech G35
The HyperX is currently 80$ on NCIX, And I'd get a 2 year warranty for 12$ since, well, incase
The G35 is 99$ but I could probably find a pricematch

Need something that is all around solid, for games, movies and music, HyperX Cloud looks like the better due to the drivers, value, build quality
I see soo many people recommending the HyperX Cloud without any details, so if someone could give me some insight, I read its pretty much a reskinned QPAD QH-90 with improved Bass and well, available in Canada, and the mic.. and extras, lower price.. kind of want them now
