I went with an OC build that will do very very well. This thing will easily be able to run any game on max at 60 FPS+. If you have any questions feel free to ask!! :)

With the i7 4970K being so powerful, he doesn't need any overclocking for a while...and when he does, he could just go get a cooler. He also wanted a mouse and keyboard as well as a monitor.

Why wouldnt he just get the CPU cooler now? It's $25 USD now and you dont buy this expensive of a PC and then just cheap out and use a stock cooler... Oh and btw there is no such thing as a 4970k

Revised build with mouse and keyboard:

I chose a GTX 780 because the AMD cards barely have any useful software right now. Also, the 780 runs cooler and uses less power.

Ok, that was a typo. I think most people could figure out that I meant 4790K. A $25 cooler master evo is a lot cheaper than the h100i you had originally posted. And I agree, after spending the first $1700, whats another $25 to keep your CPU cooler. But that's on OP.

Now with the Phantom case you have listed, he would have to remove drive bays to fit the 780.

The build I posted compared to your revised build has a better CPU, a SSD, twice the ram, and is only £8 over budget. Now your build has a cooler looking mouse and keyboard, a slightly better monitor, and a better motherbaord, but comes in amost £60 over budget.

It is completely up the OP to decide what is important to him, and what he/she would rather have.

Haha my monitor will actually look nice its 144Hz.. Your monitor is worse... You picked a logitech keyboard that I could find at the Walmart special bin and my mouse has a lot of buttons for MMORPG and FPS games. I have the exact same mouse. You can download software that allowed you to make any button to do anything you would like. AMD cards have no software that is useful and Nvidia picks the best settings for your GPU. AMD DOES NOT. I am not overbudget at all the budget is 1350 not 1300.. And yes you do remove drive bays with the phantom but he needs a SSD and a HDD. When you remove drive bays in the case it leaves two 3.5" spaces for storage devices. Dont take things so personally I was just trying to help him...

Thanks for your support guys. I have been looking around and am wondering the cheapest that this build can be made for and if someone can finish it off. I7 4790k, gtx 780 6 GB over clocked, 16gb ram a ssd and a HDD. Thanks.

@MasterDell - what do you mean there`s no software for AMD?
Either you don`t have an AMD card, you`re an Nvidia fanboy, or didn`t check on AMD software in ages.
The drivers are decent now with AMD, and they started making new software (like the beta DVR in-game recorder) that actually looks good.

I`m not meaning anything by this, just don`t like people who are biased and throw dirt at brands they don`t like.

What do you think of this?

+1 Although he should just get a 4670k, and use the money to buy a better mouse and keyboard

That's a very good idea AznGOD.

Here is an updated list. I left the mouse the same because I think that one seems nice. Feel free to change it to your preference. I also went with the Xeon 1230v3 because it is not very much more than the 4670K, and you get the extra performance. Let me know what you guys think.

Hi guys, I was talking about the 6gb over clocked graphics card which you can see on pcpartpicker which is about 490 pounds. I need this computer to last for around 5 years with minimal upgrades during this time.

It is completely over your budget but with that 6GB card. But it will be nicely in budget with a 3GB card.

Solution

Wait a minute. Isn't that monitor you have listed the same one that will look significantly worse at 144Hz? How are you gonna bust someones balls about a monitor then use the same one in your suggested build? Oh, maybe because it is practical for the budget.

This is probably the best price to performance build since you require a keyboard, mouse, monitor, and probably an OS. +1.
