Hello, so recently a process called windows host processor rundll32 have popped up in my task manager and it takes up like 30% of my CPU usage, is it a virus? Or is it something important? And how can I fix it?
Cheers.

Also I located where it was and it was in SysWow64, help please. :(

Solution
rundll32 is a process in windows to load dll files. The process can run anything from malware to important background processes. The only way to know for sure what it is doing is to run a program like Process Explorer and get detailed information about what DLL loaded by rundll32 is using CPU time.

So in essence rundll32 itself is not a virus but it can be used to run malware. (Just like any other application can be used to run malware).

I don't think it should run on its own when a program starts [like a game ] it runs in the background and should close with the game or program that requires it
now sometimes if the program or game shuts down incorrectly it may stay running but you can go to task manager and click on it and then click end process normal in windows like me here now at desktop browsing the web here at toms its not running and should not be
