What are your settings at? If everything is turned up all the way, that is an expected FPS.

low, but, it should be higher, because it should run bf4 with low and lil fps drops

Yes, definitely. That card should be able to run with all settings turned up, maybe besides render distance, all the way.

Make sure Java is being allocated enough RAM. http://www.wikihow.com/Allocate-More-RAM-to-Minecraft

I can't find much info on the 740m in particular, but the gt 740 (desktop version) is a very entry level oriented card, even lower if its the gddr3 version. Typically the gtx 750 is seen nvidia's entry level gaming card (denoted by the x in the model name generally speaking GT models are non gaming model cards)

It sounds like you are comparing against a benchmark, given your statement about bf4, would you mind linking it so we are all working off the same info? A full spec list for your laptop would be helpful as well.

My guess is your card is performing as expected. Does altering the settings/resolution improve performance?

wait, i just found something, http://gyazo.com/16d8a6886b74ac2167064d3446b8c10f
I have no idea why it wont run with nvidia, i did like this
1. Run with graphics processor - High performance Nvidia (default)
on minecraft

Can you set the discrete graphics as the default in the BIOS? I am not super familiar in trouble shooting laptops. That is how I would approach it on a desktop.

No (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+G...)

I had an AMD APU that got lower on this benchmark, and I got high settings at at about 40 FPS.

No. Computers from 2004 can run it, just trying to get good FPS and quality is the trick.

Alright, well from your picture it looks like the discrete gpu isn't being detected. In my experience going into the BIOS and setting the discrete gpu to the primary position is the solution. I'm sure there is another way to solve for this, but that's all I got.

Hope someone else can be more helpful!
