EVGA GeForce GTX 780 ACX vs EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Superclocked ACX?

Hello,

I'm planning on buying a Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 and noticed that the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 ACX has the same price as its Superclocked counterpart. In the description, the Superclocked edition has a higher clock range than the regular ACX.
However, doesn't the regular ACX achieve the same thing with superclocking?
If it runs at a higher clock, does that shorten its lifespan due to heat?
Which one do you recommend?

if the manufacture overclocks it for you, it is because the component is of a high enough caliber to do so. No shortened lifespan. Every card that comes out at this point, comes with an overclock/superclock, whatever version. If YOU overclock it, and it is more than the chip can handle, there is a possibility of "rapid" degradation. Consider the superclock edition. Like someone else said, it will be a better GPU. Chances are, you could overclock it further, but in your case, I wouldn't recommend it.

But if I overclock the regular edition, isn't it the same as the overclocked edition? At least the regular edition is able to run at stock speeds and the Overclocked version just stays overclocked.

No. There is no guarantee that you can achieve the same level of performance as the Superclocked version. The Superclocked version has been cherry picked to run stable at that speed.
