I do apoligise if this is in the wrong thread.

Okay, so basically every now and then my pc will have a bsod, this usually happens when i press something that is interactive, ie starting a video, or press a button. The blue screen itself is not useful at all, basically says that it's shut down to prevent my computer from breaking.

All my drivers are up to date, so that shouldn't be an issue. The one thing i believe it may be is the psu. This is because although it is 700w, it is unbranded, so it may be causing some power issues, also i am using a molex to 6 pin adapter because my 270x requires 2 6pin when i only have one, so this could also be causing it, although, i did upgrade my i3 2120 to an i5 3570k and my hd 7770 to my 290x, and even before the upgrade i still got bsod, although this was usually in game, where as now it happens whenever it wants to.

That's all the info i can supply, please does anyone have any suggestions?

Solution
Just looked at the crash dump, problem is caused because you are using a very old windows 7 release to manufacturing verison (2009) and have not applied the service packs or any updates. BUT you have installed a current graphics driver that requires those updates. Looks like you are hitting a old bug that was fixed a long time ago.

To fix you will need to install the last 5 years of windows updates. (sorry)

You should replace your PSU with a quality unit ASAP. Even if it's not causing your BSOD problems it's only a matter of time before it goes out in a blaze of glory and damages other components. A quality PSU is the most important component in a stable, long-lasting system. Another possible cause of your BSOD issues could be your RAM. What brand/speed/model number is your RAM? Have you run Memtest86+ to test for RAM errors?

The bugcheck code is very useful but the actual memory .dmp file contains the information as to why the system shut down. If you can copy it up to a cloud server like google docs, someone can take a quick look and see why your system shut down.

Hi, thanks for the response, I will replace my psu within the month, although I have had it for over a year without issues, I will run the ram tester and get back to you
