Hello there,
I'm facing an issue and maybe somebody has the answer.
I have a Asrock 970 Extreme3, i had a crossfire with 7950's and it worked great.
i upgrade them and now i have 2 AMD 290's.. but every single time i try them on any game in crossfire mode activated my computer hangs, it takes less than 10 seconds and hangs, then i have to reset.
if i use both cards but with crossfire disabled i have no problems at all, or even if the crossfire is enabled on Catalyst but the game does not use crossfire ( like Wolfestein ) i have no problems and i can play just perfect.
its not drivers i have tried a lot of them, is not power supply i have a 80+ Gold 1250 watts, its not windows, i tried reinstalling from scratch..
the only thing that i believe is causing the problem may be that the previous crossfire with 7950's used a bridge between the cards and now, the 290's do not use that.. so i guess it may be due some incompatibility with the Asrock Motherboard.
my bios is updated to the latest one too..
so there's anyone here that can give me a light ?

Hello pbm86, thanks for your answer.
yes, that's what i think.. sadly i'll have to change it, because now i have a crossfire of 290's that i can't use !
so sad because this mobo its been great and even with this issue i'll surely buy another Asrock mobo.
it's just that i had to learn in the hard way..

Asrock 990FX Extreme3 has two 16x slots. That is a lot better.
