Yeah, that is a part of it. I do want something that will last. But I want the system as a whole to be easily upgradeable in the future as well. After doing research, I've found lots of comments about not needing this kind of CPU, but I want something capable. And games are getting more and more CPU intensive as years go on, so it may be a worthy investment.

The primary reason I'm even upgrading now is because both my case and motherboard are pretty old and small, and they are not even large enough to put a bigger graphics card in it right now(don't even know the model, they are stock Dell manufactured that came with my PC). I figured I'd just get a completely new PC.

I don't know. I'm completely willing to switch out the case and motherboard for something else, but I don't really know anything about that graphics card. They're both roughly the same price, which one would you consider the most powerful?
And minus the cost, do you think getting the i7 4790k would be a good buy, if anything, for the future?
Apart from that, your build seems good. I do plan on upgrading to Windows 8 too.

The Provided i5 CPU will keep you happy for quite a while and u won't need more when it comes to gaming even in the future
