Hey guys, thanks for looking.

I've been on a break from gaming for a bit---new baby, new house---and I was playing everything on max settings for a good couple years after building my PC around 2011 (Skyrim, Dishonored, Far Cry 3, then Bioshock Infinite was the last game I played on max). On Assassin's Creed III I was already having to bring my settings down a bit to account for some low FPS, and I'm about to play ACIV but not sure how my system will handle it. Will then be looking to play ACV, Far Cry 4, possibly Watchdogs... So, what's gotta go, and what specific specs should I be looking to improve? Any current bargains on new components are especially appreciated.

- CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz (OC'd to 3.8, stable).
- GPU: XFX Double D HD-695X-CDFC Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
- Mobo: Asrock 890GX PRO3
- Memory: Corsair XMS3 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 SDRAM 1333
- Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
- HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

I also wonder if skimping on the fans is causing my FPS issues; I've got great ventilation but only front and back fans, and I'm not sure how easily I can fit another with the Hyper212 in there. Temp never gets anywhere near critical, but I notice that if I take the side panel off, I do get slightly better FPS...

So, looking forward to your insights!

Clean out dust often.

As for upgrades, most of the games you listed are better optimized for nVidia cards. Watch dogs would need a very high end card to max out fully. But you would be able to play it at acceptable settings with your system already.
