Hello,

Is the GTX 760 good enough for High - Ultra settings for the next 2 years or so?

I will be using a single 1080p display and it will be paired up with an i5 4590.

If you plan on playing AAA games on ultra like Assassin's Creed Unity, The Witcher 3, and Batman: Arkham Knight that are solely next-gen , I don't think the 760 will be quite powerful enough especially if you have the AA set on anything higher than FXAA. I play Watch Dogs at 30-35 FPS on ultra with MSAAx4 with a 770 4 GB. With the AA on FXAA then I average 45-50. That's just to give you an estimation of how the 760 would fare. To be safe you should go with the 770 or higher. If you go with the 760 then just be prepared to add another one in SLI.

Well the 560 was released 3 years ago,

I would upgrade maybe in like 1.5 - 2 years, I guess it will be ok then.

I also do not think games will change that much untill I can upgrade, still would like to hear other people´s opinion. :)

GTX 760 was released June 25, 2013. That's more than a year ago. Add two years to that and we have even three years exactly where the 560 is located now.

An overclocked 760 can play most high end titles ultra in the mid 40's fps range on average.

However if you are willing to drop down some settings (and overclock) it will do what you have asked.

If you are unwilling to do either, then I think to meet the expectations you posted, a 770 would be a better choice.

well how much budget do u have if u have the budget for gtx 780 ti then go for it it will last more than the 760 ......no one can tell how many years your card will give u ultra or high performance its all assumptions....but what performance u will get on current games u will not get the same in games 2 or more years from now.... if u play at ultra now then u have to play at high then but as i have told earlier you can always turn off the v sysc and turn down the msaa to get more fps on any settings .....

Only you can answer that question as I don't know what your expectations are. You can see how it fares today here:

Battlefield 3 @ 1920x1080 - Ultra 4x AA - DoF 90 gets ya 69 fps so you'll prolly be happy with that.
Crysis 3 @ 1920x1080 - Very High 4x AA today only gets ya 30 fps so is that "good enough" ?

For most games however, the 760 will do just fine..... when it stars to get weary in ya in 12 - 18 months, you can always add a 2nd card provided your MoBo and PSU choices allowed for that option.

A 2nd 760 will take your rig up to 114 fps in BF3 and 52 fps in Crysis 3. So if the questions is will ya be able to play most games with a 760,.... yes surely..... tho in 18 months ya might wanna have 2. If ya asking will you be able to play every game at that level, I'd say by the end of 2-3 years the answer is up in the air cause we have no crystal balls.... with console ports to PC becoming more common, that implies lower rate of increase req'd for the hardware....OTOH with the 4k interest fading a bit but still having "wow" factor, card makers certainly want to be able to show well there but will game developers invest in Crysis that runs at 4K ? .... that's a big question.

My youngest son is playing on SB rig (2600k @ 4.8 Ghz) with twin 560 Ti's (OC'd 25%) and he plays with everything all banged out @ 120 Hz, 3D and all and he's shown no interest in a GFX card upgrade despite sitting on a wad of HS graduation money.

oh ok, well I was looking on youtube a couple videos about 560 ti and it seems to do very well even though it has been about 3 years, of course not Ultra settings but it seemed pretty decent.

I guess I will go and grab myself a 760 since I dont think I will last 3 years with it maybe i will just upgrade next year, who knows if Maxwell makes me save for an 880.
