Recommend Laptop Components

I'm considering buying components for a laptop and assembling one myself, for when I'm on the go. I already have a Desktop PC for Gaming, but I'd like a laptop for every day tasks. The trouble is, I can't find anywhere to buy all the components I need for a laptop. I always seem to end up in the same place, 'components for desktop PC's' or things of that sort.

Right, I'll cut to the chase. I'd like the following components; all compatible; with links and at decent prices, for someone on a budget. I'm not fussed about brands, just what will be reliable and not explode when I press the 'on' button.

Components:
- Laptop Case w/ Webcam, Speakers & Microphone (Large enough for all of the components, but as nice a design as possible)
- Either an i3/i5 (Dual Core or Quad Core)
- Onboard HD Graphics & Audio
- 4GB DDR3 RAM 1600MHz
- 500GB HDD 7200RPM
- Optical Disk Drive & ReWriter
- USB 2.0 & USB 3.0
- Power Unit
- All other essential components that go hand in hand with the ones listed.

I am essentially asking for a laptop build recommendation, as close to these specifications as possible. I don't want an 'all singing and dancing' laptop, but one that'll so do what I'd like it to do.

Thank you.

Well, i have had this question before but in the end, all of it is not worth it. the components are hilariously expensive(if you do find them) and the laptop cases are extremely large with horrible cooling. best idea? With a budget, you may want to get a Razer laptop, they are the best for portability and performance. Otherwise, just check for laptops on Newegg

You can't because no such "consumer" markets exist .... you can buy HDs, GFX cards, RAM and stuff but chassis / MoBo combs... nada.

Clevo is the best known and most distinguished supplier of Chassis / Mobo combos. But they sell only to authorized distributors, no direct to consumer sales. Clevo was the original supplier for Alienware and is behind most hi end boutique brands like Falcon Northwest. What they sell for $3,000, you can usually pick up the equivalent from a Clevo distributor for $1,850 ... prices typically start around $800

But if you want to pick all your components, you can do that .... just that someone else is going to put it together for you. They will put most anything you find on newegg to shame though some of the models from Asus and MSI are quite good.
