I just bought a new computer from newegg that only has ethernet. I have wireless internet and I want to connect my new pc to the internet. The problem is my new computer has to go in the basement because I don't have enough room, and my router is all the way upstairs. Is there something I can do without moving the router and not having a ethernet cable run all the way upstairs to the router. Please can someone help.

Here is my computer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229285

As mentioned above you might want to consider Powerline networking. Bear in mind that if you want maximum internet speeds a new protocol is due out that will significantly increase powerline speeds.
Alternatively, if there is any way you can run an Ethernet cable upstairs then that would significantly increase speeds over wifi (you'll get the best speeds this way).
Additionally, there are wifi extender devices that you can place at a suitable location in between your PC and the router.

Any wifi route will need a network adapter (card or usb stick formats are available).

Without having to run cables, previous replies are correct as you will need to add a wireless network card and see if that works. The easiest way to try that is to get a usb wireless network adapter and see if that works. If the signal does not work maybe you could add a wireless access point to help boost the signal.
