After replacing my cpu cooler with a hyper 212 evo my ram has strangely reserved 8gb and i have started to get fps lag in games. Im not sure if the ram thing is the cause, in any case how do i fix it and is it the cause of the fps lag?

Ah, so the system is now only recognizing 8GB RAM instead of the installed 16GB.

Make sure your new cooler isn't pushing against the RAM sticks. High profile RAM sometimes doesn't have proper room for some of these big coolers depending on the motherboard layout.

If there is enough room for them, then try removing all the sticks and reseating them, assuring that they are plugged into their sockets properly. More than likely, you've bumped one or 2 of them and they aren't getting a good connection. RAM can be finicky that way.

Reseat your ram, and/ or check in MSconfig, under boot settings, if you have it set to use 8GB max.
Also, check your bios, or just clear your CMOS. (You do this by removing the battery on the motherboard for a few seconds, and plugging it back in.)
