How much overclocking can a stock cooler handle?

Solution
If you got lucky and got an older copper heatsink, you could probably get 0.2-0.3 over stock. If you got the aluminum variety maybe 0.1-0.2 over stock, but either way OC on a stock cooler is not recommended. Modern stock coolers usually rate @ 5w over the cpu TDP, so are barely adequate to cool a CPU at stock settings.

Also to consider, the AMD x1xx family if CPUs were not exactly the best of the FX CPUs, the x3xx are far superior, and so OC stability is a gamble .
