Three weeks ago my dvd burners started burning at snails pace. No media, program or.computer changes were made. All burners are on DMA. I can't find a way to easily test if it's windows 7 or.the.Gigabyte motherboard that has a problem. Please help.me know.what to do. I'm on dialysis 3.days a week so time and money are limited.

This could be a problem, since it's occurred over time, of too many background processes running as well. You might go into Services and set the one's you really don't need running all the time to manual settings. There are ton's of tutorials on how to do this if you are unsure. And if you're laser has encountered a defect on a disc surface it may have reverted to PIO but since you indicated they're on DMA probably not. Might double check your IDE channels if your burners are IDE and not SATA or if you have dual mode setup I BIOS. The burners themselves might be set for DMA and the IDE controllers may have reverted to PIO.

Are you using windows built in burner? Burners as in "plural"? Doubtful both burners would have issues.
I havent burned a disc in a very long time, perhaps give the free version of Nero a try.(maybe others can suggest better free burning software)
