ok so i found this computer at work. My bosses friend who works at the farm and feed supply shopp said it was toast and that he couldn't even get a bois screen. I got to there. I put a HDD in it and tried to install windows. First try it had odd pixels (colored speckles) so i put in a spare graphics card. 2nd try it said something about the ram so i took out the 1gb and put in a new 2gb. 3rd time i tried to install it came up with error 0x80070020 and all the sites mention that code during updates (i'm not updating there isn't a OS on it, same code with xp and vista). 4th time i put in a linux live cd. It wouldn't install and said "unrecoverable error" or somthing along those line. I can play around on it a little bit but the second it tries to put any system files on the HDD it crashes. Any suggestions?

RAM Stick problem. First, since you said that you put another RAM, are they having the same Brand? Frequency? Make sure that they are. Second, try to use one stick first and install Windows 7. If this stick not does not work, use the next one.

ok a bit of an update it's now went from "hell no i won't go" to just being very temperamental yet cooperative. When i was formatting my HDD it threw the error code 0x80004005. The more i have used this computer the more it has came back to life. even when i don't change i thing it'll act different. Ex: first few boots i noticed that the fan on my gpu wasn't spinning then on the 3rd or 4th it magically started too and on the 15th or so the cases bright leds that i didn't know existed lit up and scared me XD
