Hello, I have recently ran into a problem with my Toshiba laptop. I can't boot it, all it says is 'Checking media [fail]' with a black screen than it says this: 'No bootable device available, please restart' I can't boot my pc and I really need it for school and talking to family members. The sooner its fixed the better. Thanks -Clay

Okay, so there's no problem with your HDD, your problem is Windows. Buy a Windows CD on a Computer Hardware Shop, they sell OS there, if you want to buy a Windows 8 CD, look for a Windows 8.1 which is updated already. Also, look for someone who knows how to re-install Windows. You don't want to mess with your Windows. Hehe.

Well I cant really get into the pc to detect it with BIOS so lets just try one thing at a time or is there any other way to detect my HDD?

Any ideas on finding it out? On the website it says Windows 7 Home Professional but when I got the pc it wasn't Windows 7 at all.

To make thing easier for both of us, just purchase a new Windows OS from a Computer Shop. Then re-install your Windows. But please make sure to check your BIOS if your Hard Drive is being detected, else buying a new OS will go to waste. Btw, why can't you check your BIOS?

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.. Trololol....

That gave me a big silent laugh.. If only I can laugh here at the office. Shhhh...

Anyway.. Restart your PC, then on POST (the first pop-up screen after pressing the power), press either F2 or Del. Now check the if there is any HDD/SSD in it and if your Hard Drive is being detected. To go out BIOS, press F10 and press Enter. Got it?
