Hi guys- I finally got my build up. After installing windows a few days ago, it is running smoothly. I am running an Asus Z97-a board. In BIOS, I decided to click the EzWizard tuner. There I clicked my cooling system (stock) and the BIOS stated it could get more performance out of the RAM and CPU. It then said to enter BIOS if it became unstable and reverse changes. It then restarted (like it should) but upon power up the CPU LED came on (indicating CPU error) and will not POST! What should I do? I cannot access BIOS! Is there a quick button or something? I can't find anything in the manual. I would greatly appreciate any and all help- I really need it. Thanks!

Lucky! You can go into your OC settings and make sure everything is at auto, and the memory should be at speeds and voltage rated by the manufacturer. I've gotten 'OC failed' a few times when barely even pushing my CPU and it scares the shit out of me. Glad you got it sorted though :)

You need to reset the CMOS of your motherboard, the easiest way of doing this is to remove and reinstall the battery. That will reverse the changes it made. Never, ever use auto overclocks again. RAM is very risky to overclock anyway and auto OCs risk not giving enough power to the CPU. If you'd like to OC your CPU (if it is a K series) follow tutorials and do it slowly and carefully. Good luck :)

thanks for the help! Before I got to read what you said I had let it cool down a bit and tried restarting it, American-somethings (splashscreen I hadn't seen before) said OC failed! And temporarily detuned the CPU and allowed me to get into BIOS to reset everything to factory. I don't plan on ever OCing again, or at least not auto oc, anyways. Thank you so much for the help! Can I ask: how do I know if it was actually reset to factory through the BIOS? I am writing to you thru this build, but is there any way to be sure that everything is factory? Thanks again!

Yep- I will double-check just to be sure that everything is at stock speeds. I don't desperately need extra power, and although it would be nice, having a working comptuer is better than having a slightly faster one. Thanks for the help!
