Dell xps 8500 video card upgrade question?

I currently have an amd radeon hd 7770 in my 8500. For some reason, I can't get the card out. I know there is a trigger that releases it. But the 7770 covers it. How can I get to it?

Try and get your finger under the card when the PC is off and then see if you can reach the trigger, If you can't get at it, then you will have to keep it there

You can also use something like an alan wrench to push the tab to the side. I'd avoid using metal although I've done it a few times with just the wrench.

I got it but I also got my hand all scraped up. I also think I damaged the gpu. But I have a new one. Dell does not make it easy to take the gpu out...
