Hello, I have logitech X-350 speakers and only 2 of the 5 speakers work. It's been like this literally since I got them several years ago. I haven't minded up until now, but I think this may be linked to other issues (not being able to adjust volume in-game) and would like to set them from 2.1 to 5.1, but I can't due to an old audio card. Can someone recommend a good audio card that will work with my speakers and motherboard? (My motherboard is an old M2A-VM HDMI board)? I am currently using my PCI x4 slot and would prefer if the sound card would fit in one of the PCI 2.2 slots. Also, my speakers connect via 3 3.5 mm jacks on the back, I don't know if sound cards do it differently now. Many thanks.

Solution
Try different settings on your pc before going for a sound card. eg check by l clicking at the speaker sign at the top of the vol level bottom rh corner of your desktop.

Also check in Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Realtek HD Manager whether you have set 5.1.

And check you have your speakers plugged into the correct socket.

If you still get nowhere then look at a soundcard eg http://www.newegg.com/Sound-Cards/SubCategory/ID-57

Thanks for the thorough answer, but I don't have any sound card now that I think about it. I just used the MB up until now. I'll get this and see how it goes, thanks man.
