This the best I can get it. Last temps were at 100c,
once I tested out evo cooler, lowered my temps to 75c ish max 100% with prime.
THIS IS HORRIBLE cooler to put on, sheesh.
Had to set volts to VID= 1.0586 at 4.0ghz. No turbo, only HT on.
With turbo 4.4 = 80-85c I think, before was 100c as well.

I dont know how the heck people get temps in the 50c with same cooler????
Do they even bother stress testing, I see a lot of reviews on this chip reporting
at 40-60c with air coolers. I still wonder If i got a bad chip.

Only thing I actually stress it, is with x264 100% cpu. While gaming
barely uses 10-20%.

I'm sure it reach 80c maybe if I leave it running few hours. Summer is hot here 100f!.

That is quite hot.. accptable temp are around 65-70c.. It might be faulty connection with you cooler or maybe the cooler itself.. Your room temperature may also have an effect if you are in hot places.. Try using a liquid cooler

I think I'm happy with that, just hoping it'll survive 2-3 years, then I'll upgrade to
their intel T or S version. I have a some of their T version which are lowest Wattage ones,
prefer those ones, next time Ill get one those instead.

Whats max operating temp on this anyway, not from a opinion point of view.

74c. Not more than that.

100C, higher than that it start's throttling.
Beware of reaching those, though.

Make sure your cooling solutions are properly seated, also make sure to clean of any old thermal paste there. Do not apply too much! A thin layer (or a small pea sized blob in the middle) is enough, then mount the heatsink.

4.4 you should be 75 MAX or under .. you do the automatic turbo but still need to go in and adjust the voltage.
I was having same problem with 4.4 I hit 80C ..
go in and lower the voltage it help.
from my experience it all depend on voltage

4.4 and Voltage is 1.22 ... you will hit 80-85 on OCCT
and when i lower to 1.20 it range from 77-81
1.19 it 72-78

so check your voltage and that will help your temp.

good luck

PS. I'm Stress test OCCT as we talking ... 4.5 @ 1.175 C and temp MAX is 77 .. IBT was 85
also testing out my NH-D14 just install few hours ago

he probably have adaptive voltage on ... and no matter what he set .. the bios will set to what it think it need unless he set a limit on his voltage also .. ask him to check when he stress test what is his voltage.

Actually My Vid doesnt change. I have it set to that only.

If I "dont" use utility to set it, then it will range variable.
When I use the utility it fixes the Volt.

When I was playign with it before with other coolers, never made a difference.
At 100c, and plus you know it NEVER Throttles, all cores were a 4.4, thats the DEFAULT, duno why.
. I could encode x264 at same rate 100% usage
and time without it dropping frames, so theres that.
I have not experience throttle yet before, , I thought for sure pcs are suppose to crash at the temp, mine was working
fine though.
