Rec Out to Aux In

I have two systems, one for HT and the other for music (stereo) where I would like to share a pair of speakers (Wharfedale Diamond Bookshelf) between the two. I believe that I could connect the Pre-Outs on an AVR to Aux In on an Integrated Amp to achieve this.

Unfortunately, the HT receiver (Kenwood KRF-5550D) does not have Pre-Outs. the only audio 'Out' connections are Rec Outs.

Probably a dumb question here, but could I connect the Rec Out on the Kenwood to the Aux In on the Denon PMA-360 Integrated Amp to get the same resolution?

No - I was a little concerned that I might kill (or seriously maim) part of my system.

I am currently looking at a speaker upgrade. Will probably relegate the Wharfedales to the back.
