So I bought a brand new ASUS R9 280 DirectCU II TOP 3GB recently.

For installation i uninstalled my old graphics card driver (Nvidia GT 630), powered down my computer and inserted the new R9 280. I screwed it tight and it was sitting firmly with the 6+8-pin power connectors in place. I booted up my computer and installed the drivers, no problem.

I also ran a short benchmark an it did indeed detect the new graphics BUT it displayed only 4 GB of RAM, of which I normally have 8 GB. I checked inside the case and I noticed one of the RAM cards had come loose, perhaps when inserting the new GPU. I powered it down, inserted the RAM card back into its slot and booted up again.

But now my computer won't start. The GPU Power-LEDs light up, all fans are working yet my monitor only gets a signal sporadically. It goes black and very dark blue and when i click the mouse only my cursor displays and then my monitor loses signal again.

I shut it down and insert my old graphics card and everything works fine. Now I have no clue what has caused this. Is it because of the RAM? Did I somehow corrupt the new GPU?
