Hello,

A while back I saw in Device Manager that one of my usb ports had a yellow exclamation mark on it. I wanted to uninstall and reïnstall it because I thought that would fix it. But uninstalling just deleted it completely, I tried doing so problem detecting on Windows and in legacy devices in device manager but to no avail. I also tried to install my chipset driver and usb host controller drivers downloaded from the asus website for my motherboard, but I still have no solution. I have also reïnstalled Windows 7 but that din't seem to reset Device Manager or anything. Is there anyway I can get my port working again? Also my COM3 port has a yellow exclamation mark on it, does it have anything to do with that? I would great appreciate anyone helping me.

Thanks in advance!

Do you really need it? You've got 7 more.

Even if the driver is deleted, the device should be detected. Should just say 'not working properly' when you click on it in Device manager.

Nah, I probably won't need it. I was just curious if I could get it working again.

Start by checking whether it's working in Device Manager. Does it need a driver/update?

I fixed it! It was stupid actually, the usb cable thingy on my motherboard wasn't pressed in good enough. Did that and the USB works again! I still don't know why COM3 is and why it has a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager though.

Depends on your mobo. Usually its the vga port (for integrated graphics).
