RAM isn't going in.

Hi, I just bought new ram but it isn't going in the slot.

the notch is alligned with the ram.
when I push the ram in with force on both sides it isn't going in. but when I use force on one side it'll snap in but the other side won't go in.

RAM: corsair value select 4gb 1600mhz CMV4GX3M1600C11

MOBO: MSI h87m-e33

what's wrong?

Some dimm slots are very stubborn and you do have to use a bit of force all i can say is make sure the tabs are down on the slot place the ram in and put equal pressure on both sides and it should snap in.

I used way more than enough force, still didn't snap. tabs are down too.

Common problem on MSIs lower cost boards, just press them as far as you can, then snap the tabs manually.

Well idk then i have never failed at getting ram in i would hate to say use more force but if the notch in the ram is aligned with the notch in the dimm slot it should go in

So I put one side in before the other side and messed a bit around and it got in! Like novuake said, It's probably a problem with lower cost MSI boards. Thanks!
