Best motherboard for AMD FX-9370

Solution
The absolute best motherboard for the AMD FX line is the Asus Crosshair V Formula.

I personally have an Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0.

The Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 is also a very good board.

These boards are expectional overclockers if you are looking to push your CPU even more. Otherwise, any of the 990/990FX boards will work just fine, except MSI. Those are junk.

Your choices for the 9370:

ASRock 990FX Extreme9 < #3
Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z < #2
Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 < #1
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7
MSI 990FXA-GD80V2

Warning: This power draw of this CPU is almost twice that of the average CPU. Due to this, AMD recommends using at minimum a 1000W power supply. For cooling, AMD recommends using either either closed loop liquid cooling or full system liquid cooling.

There are only a handful of boards that even support the 9xxx FX CPUs. Also, the 220W TDP doesn't directly translate to power consumption, it more so has to do with Heat Output. That chip is gonna be very very VERY hot without proper cooling. I've heard Noctua's top of the line air coolers can do the trick decently well, but liquid cooling is recommended. In terms of Best Motherboards, here's the list of compatible ones:

ASRock 990FX Extreme9
Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z (Most Expensive)
Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 (NOT The EVO version, make sure you choose the PRO version)
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7
MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 (<- Piece of shit)

My personal recommendation is to just get the UD7 from Gigabyte or the Sabertooth/Formula from ASUS. All three are very capable, and make sure you get a beefy cooler.

On the Gigabyte site it says that they do not support the 9370 on any of their boards.

I have just bought the Gigabyte GA 990fx gaming sli and there is no bios upgrade for the 9370.

I'm looking at changing it for an Asus Sabertooth.
