can i use the stock cooler for overclock?

i have an athlon 64 x2 5000+ at 2.6ghz and it's not OC'd

i want to overclock it to 2.8 ghz but i have the stock cooler. can i oc it by 0.2ghz with the stock cooler? and also would it do anything in gameplay

Not really, most games rely mostly on your gpu, if you overclocked your gpu then yes, it will increase performance, but overclocking your processor won't really do much unless you play games that are cpu intensive, like bf4, but overclocking it may increase its performance in tasks like rendering etc.

if i bought a new cooler and oc'd it to 3 ghz -3.2 ghz would it do anything?
