Hi, I'm building my first computer since last night and I have some problems. I thought that my motherboard was bad because I couldnt turn the pc on, but the problem is that I cant seem to connect the powerbttn pins from the case correctly. The computer turns on If I touch the pins with a screwdriver, but not with the chassis powerbtn. The other problem is that the pc turns on, but I hear no beep, however It boots correctly because I can see the BIOS splash screen and then it starts to ask for the boot drive etc. Sorry if this is not the correct forum :(

I've run into this problem a number of times and one of two things always worked -- a new power switch, new power switch wires, or both. Also double check your manual to insure that you are connecting the power and reset button wires to the correct pins.

As for the bios beeps: do you have a case speaker attached to the correct pins on the motherboard header?
