So my question would be straight, is my HDD dying?

So for about a month or two now, my PC is randomly restarting either while idle or at workload. I can't be sure what is causing the problem as it never occurs at the same time as before, or in the same situtation. After a research, I unchecked in my computer's settings to restart automaticly, and instead let me see the BSOD. It worked once, but I forgot to write down the error code. Few minutes ago my computer restarted again, but this time it didnt show no BSOD. It always restarts without warning.

Secondly, few days ago my PC started messing up. Out of nowhere, I stopped being able to open any kind of software, and instead I was getting an error message about the ADVAPI32.DLL missing or being corrupted. So I reinstalled Windows 7 on one of my partitions, and it seemed to be working fine, until today. I barely booted into my PC as I had a problem with being stuck at CHCKDSK after cancelling it. Had to restart few times, and then after half an hour the computer restarted with no warning.

CHCKDSK has been popping up all the time whenever I booted my PC since about 2-3 months, but even if it completed the check with success, it would still pop-up the next boot.

Also, 40 of my Windows Updates cannot install as they are failing all the time; especially when restarting windows to complete their installation (computer restarts, and chckdsk usually breaks the process)

Is my Seagate HDD slowly dying?

Solution
Hello... it would seem that way... your files/hardrive, is sending Windows messages to keep CHKDisking... Clean and re-insert your data/power cables first and then start shopping.
Try installing Windows, MFG'r drivers and Don't go out looking/Installing any Updates... because there are all kinds of things installing that you Don't need or use... and see if it start working better.... IF it Ain't broken don't Try To Fix it!!!
