The i5 3350p is more powerful as a CPU then the a10 7850k by a lot. Apus are only good when you arnt going to use a gpu , they are not meant to be a stand alone CPU. It will bottleneck your 770

That 4th gen i7 will be the better, more better.. Look at this, a huge difference.. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790-vs-AMD-A10-7..... What's the difference is the A10-7850K costs less which is enough if the PC is used ONLY/MOSTLY for GAMING (can get a decent i5- if only for gaming)..

i5 is better than A10 7850K. You could buy an unlocked i5 and overclock it. That would be an improvement. You could buy an FX-8350 it has 8 threads and sometimes can be better than an i5 at stock.

Going from a 3350p to a A10-7850k would be a downgrade.

Would be a sideways move maybe a slight upgrade if you OC, but definitely not worth the cost of a new motherboard and cpu.

Honestly I would save the money. The 3350p should not bottleneck a 770. I would atleast wait for Haswell-e or Broadwell before upgrading.

Yes, 5th generation intel processors with 14nm (die size) technology (4th gen have 22nm technology)..

The intel broadwells are expected to release on the second quarter of 2015.. However, as far as i know, MSI Global gaming 7 and your asrock will support intel broadwell (i.e. fifth generation) processors..

I didn't say you don't have to update BIOS.. As from wikipedia's info about broadwell, Broadwell is the 14nm (die size) technology of Haswell processors.. So, those mobos that supports haswell will support broadwell too, but one can say only after the release that BIOS update is a must or not..

Broadwell-H processors comes with LGA 1150 socket and it will work with those motherboards whereas Broadwell-EP and Broadwell-EX comes with LGA 2011-3 sockets that doesn't work with those mobos.. And LGA 2011-3 is not backward compatible to LGA 2011 too..

Intel already sent sample chips for its trusted partners for testing.. And to your clarification, Skylake architecture will be the successor of Broadwell.. It comes in 4 variants.. Cannonlake will be skylake's successor.. Second quarter means April-June 2015 as an year has four quarters having 3 months each..

What ?!!? :heink:  Anyway.. In straight, your motherboard supports only one type of 5th generation intel CPUs (those with the suffix broadwell-H).. It'll be released from April - June 2015..

Currently only the 9 series boards(H97 and Z97) are going to have support for the socket 1150 Broadwell cpu's. The older 8 series boards will not have broadwell support.

Yes, that's what I said.. I mentioned those mobos.. and the "those" were both Z97 chipsets.. MSI Global gaming 7 and your asrock Z97 extreme.
