Hey everyone, so I just completed my first gaming build last weekend with the help of a friend, but I just turned it on to make sure all of the fans were running, I didn't bother to hook it up to a monitor to enter the BIOS setup. So today I was ready to install my OS and get started, but nothing will display on my screen. The machine powers up, all of the fans are on, I just get no picture. I'm thinking it might be a defective graphics card, but if that were the case, would the fans still even turn on? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't know how you have it connected to your monitor. If your monitor has more than one type of connector (HDMI; DisplayPort, VGA) then often you will have to touch the buttons on your monitor and select the video input method to match how it is connected to your monitor.

I feel silly because just after I posted this I found that it was the second item on that checklist, "most common on for new builders" that was the problem. Thanks for the help.
