I built a computer a little over a month ago and I decided to use a power supply from my old computer. Yesterday i went to go take a shower and when i came back there was a burnt electronics smell in my room. I opened up the case and figured out that the power supply had blown (thats were the smell was coming from). I ordered a new power supply but do you guys think the old power supply damaged anything?

Probably your pc components wouldn't blow away. But psu failure sometimes leads to burning of all components. But if a motherboard burns away all your parts which are connected to it also goes away. But in case of psu nothing goes wrong.Just get a new psu and connect it.Everything goes fine,......

You won't know the extent of the damage till you test the other components.

Buy a quality power supply.
