I'm building my own pc and when I try loading the Windows 7 Ultimate disk it won't get past the Starting Screen (I've waited up to 5 hours). I've also tried resets and swapping out the RAM.

System Specs:
- Intel Core i7-4930K
- ASUS Sabertooth X79 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
- Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD5000HHTZ 500GB 10000 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
- SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD128BW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive
- CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A1866C9R

Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks!

You might try going into your CD/DVD drive and HDD settings in BIOS and seeing if there is an option to use legacy IDE mode or combined/dual mode. Every BIOS is different so I don't know what options are available in yours but this somewhat indicates to me that the problem might be with your dvd drive or hdd. Does your BIOS have an automatic BIOS update feature? Have you tried updating it? You are installing to the SSD, correct? Try disconnecting the Velociraptor and installing to see if maybe something there is hanging you up. Or try a different SATA port on the board for your SSD and/or DVD drive. Here's a thread on RAID while installing windows 7. Maybe it will help...
Are you saying it installs fine but then when windows tries to start after installation it gets stuck on the start screen? Or does it get stuck during the attempt to install? Are you sure the disc is good? Sounds like a disc corruption, scratch, etc. Can you burn another copy of the disc using a different computer and see if the copy process completes? If it does, try that disc as a starting point. If that doesn't work we can try other options.

It never installed. I will do the "press any key" to boot from disk and it will give the progression bar of loading the files, and then goes to the "Starting Windows" screen where it hangs (it is not frozen, as the windows icon is "glowing").The disk is a legal copy bought through Newegg and does not look damaged.

UPDATE: I was able to get past the Starting Windows screen by changing the SETA config to RAID, and now I'm having the issue of not being able to detect drivers
