Computer crash when playing games.

My computer completely freezes when playing games to which the only solution is to switch off/reset. It sometimes happens once every hour, sometimes once every ten minutes. Also known to happen when streaming, not watching downloaded, video. It used to freeze and make a buzzing noise until I updated the drivers. CPU temp seems to be around 55 when the crash occurs. It has always done this, had it built. Any help would be greatly appreciated, close to launching it through the nearest window at the moment.

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
CPU: AMD FX-9590
RAM: 2x4GB Vengeance DDR3
Motherboard: Crosshair V Formula-Z
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 280x

Solution
check the note for high tdp for this cpu on that board http://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/CROSSHAIR_V_FORMULAZ/HelpDesk_CPU/

It doesn't make the buzzing noise since updating drivers. Can't remember where it came from when it did.

Going to give my PSU to a friend and see if he has the same issue as he suspects that could be the problem. Temps max at around 55 when gaming and the thing crashes.

I suspect the PSU as well, however RAM could be a problem here - i would download a util called memtest 86+

http://www.memtest.org/

Burn a usb/cd image and let it run for a few hours....it will at least confirm if your ram is ok.

And so on.

Not sure how to post the hwinfo results without saving as a mess of a document. The best I could do was some info from HWMonitor:

Ran a memtest86 check all night, no errors. Prime95, no issues. Fresh install of Windows. Even tried disabling automatic fan speed so it is always at max in case itr was temp based. Have received an RMA for my graphics card on the off chance but not sure I want to be without my PC for so long as I wait for it to come back. Considering buying a completely different PSU. Perhaps an 850w one and see if that does anything. The new Civilization works without issue for hours on end so it isn't all games.

Finally got around to trying to fix this thing again! TDP issue does seem to be very possible even though my motherboard and cpu are on a compatible list. Just ordered a 1000w corsair PSU on the off chance but, if it is the issue with the cpu, which would you suggest changing? A different motherboard or cpu? Suppose the cpu would be easier to swap. Considering the FX8350 as it doesn't seem to be too different and is 140w so may just cut my losses. I think. seen elsewhere that underclocking could help. It seems the cpu has some stability issues. AMD also reccomend water cooling for this chip which I wouldn't mind getting anyway.
