Hi guys, I have been running my PC build using only Intel Graphics from my i7 for a day or two, and just installed my video card. It doesn't look as good as I expected- equivalent to the Intel Graphics. I am fairly sure I have all the drivers installed. What should I do? Is there a way to test the graphics? Windows 'rated' the GPU at a 7.9, the highest rating possible. I don't know how to get it to look better. I'd appreciate any help- thanks!

Look better how and doing what?
The GPU will obviously perform better than the IGPU of the i7.

Try turning up the graphics settings in the games you're playing.

Sorry, this time it's not a troll. I'm new to the whole computer building thing, and the resolution of icons, chrome, etc. don't look as good as expected. They are fairly low-res. I have installed the drivers, and am not sure what is wrong. I'm not a gamer, but plan to use this for video editing, etc. Thanks for the help!

270x is not really a video editing card.

I turn off all my windows special effects except for smooth edge of screen font to improve performance.

Have you set your resolution to the native resolution of your screen in Catalyst Control Center. A graphics card doesn't really make your icons look better...

Adjust the screen resolution. You can do that in the catalyst center or right click on desktop.
