My Windows Ultimate didn't come with Word!

Hi guys, I have Windows 7 Ultimate Edition. I can't find Microsoft Word! Do I need to download it? I believe Ultimate was the edition of Windows to include pretty much everything- how to I get MS Word? Thanks for the help! I appreciate it.

You need to purchase Microsoft Office separately. It does not come with any version of Windows.

It does have note pad and word pad for basic word processing but other than that word is a paid program

Any way you can get it free? I don't remember paying for it on other computers (however they were bought, I didn't build them)

No, you must buy it from Microsoft. There are free alternatives such as Openoffice, and such, but if you want Microsoft Office you will have to buy it.

No. most prebuilts come with a trial. Very few come with a full version. If you want word you have to buy it. If its for home use just use an open source option like open office

Word (and the rest of Office) is a separate application, and not free. If you had it on a previous PC, you paid for it, but didn't notice.

So. Either buy it, or use one of the free, mostly compatible alternatives such as LibreOffice.
