ANYONE with strong knowledge in these cards that might know which is better feel free to explain , Im trying to decide which 4gb card I want , and ASUS is out of the question as i know how well that r9 280x worked! (sarcascm). .. . Which is better? Im trying to stay with 4GB because alot of games are using vram and for future proof also.

Get whichever is cheaper they are both great cards with great cooling, the gigabyte is slightly faster at the stock clock.

I'd say go with EVGA. They are an excellent company with superb QA and RMA. I had one experience with a dead Gigabyte 560 and the people there tried to cheat me out of the RMA. That aside, EVGA's ACX cooler is sturdy and works quite well, under normal conditions your card won't peak 70 degrees under load. Plus it is ultra quite.
However, if you are looking for future-proofing then you should look further and get a 780. You raise a valid point with the VRAM but quite simply put the 256-bit bus of the 770 isn't as well-equipped to deal with the extra memory as is the 384-bit bus of the 780, despite the fact that the 780 has 1 GB less RAM.
In short, the 770 would be good for around a couple of years but with a 780 you could go 3+ with an option to SLI and blow away more games beyond that.
