Hi there,

I recently got an upgrade from my old laptop to a new computer with a graphics card. However, I already have a vga projector set up in my room (cable trunking and such is already in place), but my graphics card does not have a vga port. Is there any way for me to switch to onboard graphics when I want to use my projector without having to go into the bios and change the settings each time, seeing as my monitor is in the graphics card?

My specs:
Intel i7 3770k
amd r9 290
asrock extreme4 z77

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

they should both be available. What are your BIOS options?

I can change the primary graphics hardware but nothing I've tried has succeeded in allowing me to use both without changing it

With both connected only one appears in the list of available displays in windows 7 (64 bit) depending on which setting i have in the bios. Furthermore, under advanced settings only one adapter is shown.

you can use both. But you should just run the projector of a DVI-I to VGA adapter that was included with the card and run the monitor off DVI-D

I really only wanna be spending money as a last resort; I'm a bit low at the moment. All I do on the projector is watch films. Is there no way to do it with software?

Ah my apologies I actually got the sapphire tri-x version, which does not come with that adapter. Sorry for being unclear.
