Hi
i want buy new graphic card for my computer

My specs :
Intel Core 2 duo E7200 2,53 Ghz
Corsair VS series 450 watt PSU
Asus P5GC-MX/GBL
1 slot PCI express x16

Can GT 630 or HD 6670 will run without bottlenecks ?
should i go to HD 6670 or GT 630 ?

Solution
If you're looking to save money with fairly decent/good performance - I'd get an Nvidia 750 Ti hands down. I have it on a fairly high end computer and it plays every game I throw at it. Get the Nvidia 750 Ti (Ti version + 2GB version), then save up to upgrade other parts. Plus, the 750 Ti draws less power and is the newest Nvidia architecture at a very affordable price.

HD 6670 between those two, I'd still recommend saving up a lot more money and upgrading CPU/MOBO/RAM/GPU.. I did what you're doing now and it was the biggest mistake.

For now I recommend saving up and getting a 750ti or a 760 to avoid buyers remorse. but bear in mind that either of those two will be bottlenecked by your slow processor.

the HD6670 wont but I still recommend you save up money and do a new build altogether.

If you're only going to be playing dota 2 then by all means get the 6670, its not that much of a GPU intensive game, it relies heavily on the CPU so invest towards that. and your power supply is perfectly fine for the card

I completely disagree with the above statement. You will waste your money getting a cheaper video card at this point. Main reason is if you get the 750 Ti, you can always upgrade your cpu/motherboard and keep the 750Ti. If you get a faster processor for an older motherboard and bought a cheap video card, you would of wasted $200 easily and will still have to upgrade everything.

As for video games, your video card (gpu) is the most important part of your system. Second will be your CPU. So it will be wiser to get a 750Ti rather than a 6670, 730, etc.. spend an extra $40 or so and get a much better card, i.e. the 750Ti. Then you can upgrade your cpu.

As for bottlenecks, in more often than none, many bottlenecks stem from having a slower video card. CPU's main purpose is for physics and isn't used nearly as much as displaying images, how fast textures show, draw distance, etc.. - all the things a video card is responsible for.

*** Trust me. Get AT LEAST a 750 Ti 2GB. You can always move it to your next computer build. After you get a 750Ti, then start saving up for a new motherboard and CPU. Your motherboard is very very old and is using the DDR2 standard. DDR4 will be coming out at the end of the year so it makes absolutely no sense to buy a new CPU for your current motherboard and shaft out on the video card.

Yes you will be fine with PCI Express 1. However, just note that your video card will run a little slower as it's 1.0/1.1 vs 2.0/3.0 but NOT drastically much. So when you eventually upgrade your cpu and motherboard, you'll notice a difference.

As for backwards compatibility, PCI-E 1.1 should be backward compatible but check with your mobo specifications. I looked and it didn't indicate 1.0 vs 1.1, etc.. It did see PCI-E 16x which is a good start so I think you're good :)
