What is a piece of software which I can use to click a hotkey and it starts recording audio, like Fraps? I have Win7 x64. My audio is too quiet in fraps.

Solution
Then you have picked the wrong capture software for gameplay capture + commentary. Fraps is pretty outdated in this respect. You should use something like Dxtory instead. It allows you to capture your gameplay at lossless quality as well but at better performance than Fraps (meaning you'll have significantly less framerate drops), and it has many useful features in it. One of the features is the ability to capture audio into different audio tracks. So you would record in-game audio into Track 1 and your microphone into Track 2 for example. Later when you finish recording you will have the ability to adjust volume of your microphone for instance or mute it entirely without automatically affecting the in-game audio.

So yeah, I...

Isn't it easier simply to make sure your game is set to higher volume in the Windows Volume Mixer, and that in-game audio options are set to 100% before you start recording with Fraps?

Well yes, but I want to be able to get my audio separately. Also, I can't adjust my own audio after filming, so I need to be able to change my own volume. Also, it's my voice, not my game's audio that is too quiet
