So I've built my rig for some time and recently (past 2-3 months),i've noticed:
my monitor freezing,pc and keyboard unusable, but my PC was still going on,couldn't use the power button so I had to manually shut down from the PSU switch.
At some point,it stopped happening for a few weeks and now it recently returned.
I've looked over hundreds of forum posts with the same issue with slight changes (but the main issue is the same),tried any possible advice and nothing works
(memory diagnostics, clean hardware, clean PC of viruses, update drivers, disable audio drivers etc.).
I've come to the conclusion that a reinstall of Windows may be needed or one of my hardware pieces (PSU most probably) just keeps failing.
Also, sometimes,it just restarts and either goes into Windows normally or even just gets stuck at the motherboard start screen (ASUS in my case).
Any extra advice before taking any quick decisions would be really appreciated! :)
My specs:
CPU: AMD FX-6100 (6CPUs) @ 3.3GHz
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 FTW 4GB GDDR5 @ 1085 MHz
Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L/USB3
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8(2X4)GB @ 1600MHz
PSU: Inter-Tech SL-700 @ 700W
OS: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

Solution
sounds like the system went to sleep but you don't have the BIOS set to wake up the system or the BIOS is set to put the USB ports to sleep also and you have a USB keyboard. When it does not wake, you use the Power button. This forces a system shutdown, even though the system looks like it was shut down. Then you press the power button again and the system powers on, windows records the error indicating about the last non clean boot.

fix is to go to BIOS, enable power management to allow the system to power on with the keyboard key you specify (space key) Also, look for a setting that is telling your system to fully power off your USB ports and tell it not to.

you can also go to the windows control panel and find the power...

you can also go to the windows control panel and find the power management settings and set the USB ports not to go to sleep.

- you can also get this problem with certain bugs in your BIOS that just require a BIOS upgrade to fix (look at your motherboards vendor's website)
