I am planning on building a gaming to run games like Battlefield 4, but I am pretty much clueless as far as what components to buy. I have a $1200 budget and I can't anymore than $1220. I want to upgrade in the future to SLI or Crossfire, also I need a network card. I don't know whether to go with an AMD or Intel Build. I know that I want to the best performance in games as possible and I want to OC, not allot but enough if that makes sense. I would prefer a good, yet cheap, case to keep things cool and hopefully with a windowed side. I need everything part besides a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

Do you mean a wireless network card? The motherboard comes with a wired one already.

Yes. I want to fit a G-skill ram in if I can, and I need a dvd drive. Any other builds?

Any reason why G-skill in particular? It's quite a bit more expensive than some other equally good brands. Here's the build with the changes you requested.

this is a build I have from PCpartpicker is there anything you and do to decrease the price but not the performance.

RAM wouldn't matter too much. The performance you get for faster ram is marginal. Focus more on other parts of the PC.

How much different would the preformance be and is there a way I can benchmark this PCpartpicker list

The r9 290 can't run physX as well, if that's something you're into. If anything running physX on anything outside an nVidia GPU would be horrible anyways.

The r9 290 does have a higher thermal limit and the heat is quite a bit higher. Getting a good aftermarket cooler for it is basically a must if you mind the heat. The windforce and Tri-x coolers are the one's I'd recommend.

Performance differences: look at the games you're playing and which ones are better optimized for either side. The r9 290 on release was a tad bit better than the gtx 780, but I'd imagine they're relatively close in performance, but the gtx 780 is quite a bit more expensive. Better price point. It all depends on budget.
