After a wholde day of online browsing I finally narrowed the search for my next week's MB/Processor combo purchase. Still, as we all know it, things get tough at the end so I'm having a really hard time choosing my future MB.

Parts that I already own and intend to use in the build :
- Samsung 840 EVO 500GB
- 2x2 and 2x4 for a total of 12GB RAM at 1333mhz
- XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB DD XXX Edition
- Kiss Quiet 620W Power Supply
- 2x extra F9 Arctic Cooling Coolers

Processor : I7 4790k
MBs :
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 ( http://www.gigabyte.eu/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4959#ov )
or
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK ( http://www.gigabyte.eu/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4978#ov )

Any big difference between the 1st's 8 and 2nd's 12 VRMs ? Will that somehow have any noticeable performance effect ? :??:

I would kindly ask you to back up your suggestions on these 2 and if by some other mean you are thinking at a better MB choice please mention it but keep in mind that I'll only go for Gigabyte, ASRock and (Edit)-->MSI Products around the same price. Thanks are in advance ! ;)

If you are going to overclock High, and i mean REALLY HIGH, the 12 phase power will allow you to get slightly higher overclock.

Otherwise, just get the first one because it looks much better. If the prices are about the same, i think the second one might be worth it.

In the end, just choose whichever one that looks better to you.

My Recommendation: choose a z97 motherboard that already has lots of reviews.

I'm not an expert on motherboards, but I have a 6 VRM mobo and it overclocks fine. More may give you more OC headroom but not by much if at all. I would suggest an MSI Z97 Gaming 7 but I see you'd rather stick with Gigabyte and that's completely fine. I would recommend staying away from ASRock though. I also just noticed that an i7 is more than overkill for your current GPU, but I'm guessing you'll be upgrading that in the future. :)

Well it depends on what your looking for the gaming 7 have a lot of features mainly for overclocking and mulitiplayer gaming. The gigabyte black boards are absolutely rock solid probably one of the most reliable motherboards you can buy there used mainly for servers so they lack some of the more gaming oriented features that the other one possesses. But beware the power supply you have there is very low quality and i would never hook it up to a nice build like that.

I agree, a new PSU such as an EVGA Supernova G2 750W would be good, or anything else from Seasonic, Super Flower or XFX.

Offtopic :
I sincerely wouldn't want to argue with you since I have a somehow large budget that can afford another PSU but my current one has sustained my "old" build for over 2 years with all the parts mentioned in the description from which a 122W CPU which has a higher appetite than the I7 4790k's 88W demand. Even so I guess every MB wants it's part too :)

I completely understand :) It would probably work fine. It's just nice having a well known, good new PSU for new parts because if anything went wrong a low quality PSU has a chance of taking out other components in the PC if it fails. :)

I mean it would probably work but like somone else said if that thing decides to crap out (and it may very soon being 2 years old) it could take your other parts with it.

Based on your posts and a "white night" of searching till 5AM I've finnaly made up my mind and my choice is...

*imaginary background drums and audience exitment*
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK ( http://www.gigabyte.eu/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4... )
*imaginary applause burst*

But before my sincere thanks I will mention what determined my choice :
1) I'm from Romania, the 6th country in the world when it comes to fast internet speed and the dual lan feature is a true temptation ( http://www.bloomberg.com/slideshow/2014-01-27/where-to-find-the-world-s-fastest-internet-top-20.html#slide16 )
2) My "old" build also contains a 4 years old Ultra Dourable Gigabyte MB that never encountered a single problem ( even after my mum forgot to close the windows during a storm and resulted in my PC falling upsidedown from it's desk which caused me a stormphobia )

Sounds good! :) Enjoy your new motherboard and (kinda) new build! :D and don't forget to mark the thread as solved by selecting an answer. :)
