Note: I am very new to purchasing new hardware for my PC so i have little knowledge of what GPUs are good and what other PC hardware requirements I will need to support running a new one, such as if the power of my PSU will be able to handle running a different card.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: 1 month

BUDGET: $150-$250 (I would prefer to spend as little as possible, but still get a good quality GPU and I am aware it wont be cheap)

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: I want to be able to run games like Arma 3, Planetside 2, Injustice, Starcraft 2, and Sniper Elite:Nazi Zombie Army on medium or higher with good FPS (40-60) and I am often doing work on Adobe PS Elements.

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Radeon HD 6670 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

PSU- CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Motherboard- Asus M5A78L-M LX3 Desktop Motherboard - AMD 760G Chipset - Socket AM3+

http://

Processor- AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 8-Core 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor

http://

RAM- CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model

http://

CPU Case- Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus - Mid Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

http://

Fans- I have one front fan- 120 mm (the one that came with the case), one top fan and one fan in the back of case (I dont have much info about the fans unfortunately other than they have speed options for low, med and high)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: I really only know of Newegg.com for buying PC parts, thats where I bought all the components for my current setup. I am open to recommendations for other sites if they are better or have lower prices.
* I LIVE IN THE U.S.

PARTS PREFERENCES: Since this current PC is my first one, I only know of the quality of my current GPU (which is AMD) but I am not opposed to getting Ge Force since I have heard good things.

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe (No idea what this really is)

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: A card that doesn't generate a lot of noise would be preferable.

GPUs I have been looking at are:

SAPPHIRE 100364L Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202050&cm_re=r9-_-14-202-050-_-Product

XFX Black Edition Double D R9-280X-TDBD Radeon R9 280X 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

http://

These are just some I was looking at, not seriously considering getting. I really do not know a lot about the quality of some GPUs or sizes (if they will fit in my tower), etc.

Solution
From what I usually hear, is that the CX600 is made from low quality parts to lower selling costs. I've seen videos of it going up in smoke. Get the R9 280 and a XFX 550W PSU or the Seasonic S12II 620W.

Get the 280X (or 280 to save some bucks since the difference between the two is minimal) but I'd recommend changing that PSU immediately because I haven't heard or seen great things about the CX600.

What would you recommend as a good replacement for my PSU? I'm not looking to spend a ton on the PSU alone, just something better I guess. I didn't know this PSU was bad.

Okay, thanks for the help. One more thing (I think) who's best to purchase the R9 from? Sapphire, Asus or MSI? I have no idea what makes them different from one another.

What makes them different is their coolers and warranties. From those manufacturers, I'd say Asus or MSI, since they seem to be more reliable and have better customer service than Sapphire.
