Gaming Lag, gtx 780, i7 4770k

Hello Everyone,

My name is Austin, I just built my own pc with these specs-

Intel core i7 4770k
Gigabyte z87 d3hp mobo
Crucial ballistix sport 16gb 1600mhz ram
EVGA gtx 780 sc acx cooling
EVGA supernova 750g2 psu
Samsung 840 evo 250gb ssd
WD black 3tb HDD
Windows 8.1 installed on SSD

I am experiencing lag on games such as minecraft and I installed all of the drivers such as gpu/mobo/etc and ran anti virus and all the tests that I could. I am experiencing lag and I can't imagine that this pc would lag. I play on 1080p full settings as well... Any help would be great! Thanks!

You can also set fps to unlimited in game and use msi afterburner built in rivatuner server to limit fps to something like 70fps.

Could also be server lag.

I also had lag on minecraft, the solution is to make sure you have the proper installed newest java for your version of windows.


You should then allocate 8gb of ram to it afterwards.

That's good.

You can also go into the nvidia control center and create a custom profile for minecraft.

Go to manage 3d settings, click the program settings tab, then click add.

Go to the minecraft launcher and choose it.

The make sure to choose the "preferred graphics processor" for that program as either your gtx 780 specifically if it is listed or "high performance nvidia processor".


Make sure "maximum performance" on power management, and also "single screen performance mode" (if you only have a single monitor) are selected.

Apply.
