Is a first Gen i7 920 enough for 4k video and gaming

Was wondering if an first i7 920 would be a problem. For 4k game and video I will use 3x radeon 280x since I already got 2 but will the CPU make much a difference in 4k video and gaming

Maybe sometimes it will, it depends heavily on the game and your settings. I will point out that CPU workloads are generally the same regardless of your resolution & detail settings, so you're more likely to find a bottleneck at lower settings. The stress on your GPUs at 4K will probably hide any CPU issues that you might have had otherwise.

As an aside, your CPU is nearly 4 years old. You're definitely in "upgrade territory" if you have the money to do so. If you don't, don't worry about it, its still not terrible.

I would go with AT LEAST an 850 watter...

Yes ima update the psu but wondered if in high 4k resolutions would require greater CPU. So or instruction set with newer chips u wonder if they'll have somethin like video sync or whatever earlyer chips not first Gen had to speed up video recoding
