Hello guys, I just bought a gigabyte gtx 760 and I have a 550 watt Gigabyte PSU. It says it needs 6 + 8 pin connecctors and my PSU has a 6 + 2 cord that I have already plugged in, but when I power up it tells me to connect the pcie cords. It came with 2 cords with a 6 pin and 8 pin with the white adapters at the end, is the 8 pin enough or do I need to connect the other cords and how do i do that? I am a noob at this btw¬

You mean something like this?

that is molex to 8 pin, use it if you don't have any other power connectors

that goes into Molex outputs from PSU and then the rest of the leads (6/8 pin) goes to graphics card.

It sounds like you need both a PCI-e 8 pin and a PCI-e 6 pin plugged in. The card should have two power ports on the side, one 8 and one 6. Take one of the 6+2 PCI-e cable from the power supply and plug all 8 pins into the 8-pin port. Take another 6+2 pin and put the 6-pin portion in the 6 port.

The white cables included with the card are Molex to PCI-e adapters, you dont need them if your power supply has 2 6+2 pin PCI-e cables. If it doesnt, you will need to use one of the adapters in place of a PCI-e cable. In this case connect a 4-pin Molex cable to the adapter, and the adapter to the port on the card. If you continue to have problems please tell us exactly which Gigabyte 760 you have, as different models may hay different power requirements.

Hi friend, thankyou for your response very appreciated. Yes that is the one I have, it has 3 pins on the white end and 6 that I need to plug into the card. I have already plugged in the only cable from the psu which is the 6+2 pin that I have obviously plugged into the 8 pin slot on the GPU. The problem is, I don't think I have spare molex connectors available. Can you tell me what i need to do to make sure? I didn't build my computer so the cords at the back confuse me.

Try to look for a cable coming from your PSU with a connection like this:

You will need 2. Like the other poster said connect the adapter with the 6-pin connection to the molex connectors on that cable. Hopefully This helps.

From what I can see, I only have one spare and the other one that seem to be spare is attached to a SATA adapter. Please help me, I only just bought this card and it's making me really sad I can't use it.

If all else fails you could take the SATA cable out of the optical drive (cd-drive, not hard drive), connect that sata cable to whatever is currently using the sata to molex adapter, freeing up another molex. Just to better understand, is the only cable from the power supply that is free right now (besides the 8-pin PCI-e) the one molex?

Those are the cords

That is the only one I have available from my knowledge

Another picture of the molex

And this is the molex that is also attaached to the SATA which is attached to my hard drive as you can see.

Thankyou for all of your assistance by the way, I'd like to donate to you some how for saving me a lot of trouble if the issue is fixed :) !
