Make sure the cooler is installed perfectly, and the thermal paste is spread evenly across the CPU. you might have to buy some more paste as when you remove the cooler the pre installed paste will be messed up. You need to figure out what is causing these temps before thinking about undervolting as that can cause other issues. The CPU will protect itself and throttle down so don't worry too much.
thanks now should i get a aftermarket fan instead for my cpu?
Yes
since you bought a K series processor I'm guessing you're gonna wanna OC it, so I'd suggest an NZXT or Corsair all in one water cooler, or a Coolermaster 212 Evo if you're on a budget. It also depends what can fit inside your case. What is your case and other specs?
Msi Z97 gaming 7 motherboard
Geforce GTX 660 video card
Corsair 750 watt psu
2TB Hardrive
8GB memory
I might get the EVO but i worry about the cleaning of the old thermal paste from the old stock fan
The evo is a solid choice. What is your case? All you need to clean the thermal paste off is a bit of isopropyl alcohol and a bit of paper towel. Just make sure you don't wipe the paste onto the motherboard or anything else and all will be fine.
thank you so much you've been great help. my case is NZXT gaurdian 921.
hugs!! You think i can install after-market fan while mobo is in case?
That's okay!! Glad I could help out
I've never seen that case before, looks pretty awesome... And yeah, you can install a new cooler while the motherboard is in the case, ofcourse everything has to be disconnected from the PC though such as power, any peripherals.
