I have a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... which is pretty awesome but I need a new GPU, this one sucks. The comp has a mad fx 8320 and 400 watt psu and gtx 650. Any ideas for a upgrade that would be cheap so I won't need a new psu

Asus GTX 750 Ti.

I suggest that because it uses very low power consumption and does not require additional PCIe power connectors.

While I do recommend that you get a better power supply for future support and to overall provide better power to your components, you should not need one for the GTX 750 Ti. It only uses up to 60W.

Guru3D measured 92 watts and recommends a 450 watter if CPU and GPU are at stock speeds.

Quote:
Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

GeForce GTX 750 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 450 Watt power supply unit.
GeForce GTX 750 Ti - On your average system the card requires you to have a 450 Watt power supply unit.

If you are going to overclock GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with a bit more stamina.

Pretty much any upgrade is limited by your PSU

why bother with a 750 Ti as upgrade to a 650? it is hardly much of an upgrade as is very similar in performance.

I'd say since you have a 650 already, you will probably need a bigger PSU in order to get a good enough GPU to see much of an improvement in graphics performance. Sorry.

Here's a review by techpowerup on power consumption.

The GTX 750 Ti is much better than a GTX 650.
